Exciting New UC Majors (Vlog)

The University of California (UC) system continues to expand its academic offerings, introducing innovative new majors across its campuses during 2025. These new programs are designed to meet emerging industry demands and address our many modern challenges.
At UC Berkeley, a new standalone Neuroscience undergraduate major will allow students to explore the intricacies of brain function through coursework and research. Additionally, UC Berkeley will offer a minor in Israel Studies.
UC Davis will introduce a Business undergraduate major, welcoming its first class in Fall 2025. This major will emphasize economics and feature concentrations in high-demand STEM areas, such as Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability.
UC Merced will offer the following several new programs available to Fall 2025 applicants:
- Aerospace Engineering
- Biochemical and Biomolecular Engineering
- Biochemistry
- Biological Sciences, BA
- Communication and Media
- Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation Biology
- Management of Innovation Sustainability and Technology
- Neuroscience
- Science, Technology, and Ethics
UC Irvine is also introducing exciting new programs. The university offers an Applied and Computational Mathematics major with specialization tracks in Mathematical Biology, Mathematical Finance and Data Science. Minors in Mathematics and Mathematics for Biology are also available.
At UC Riverside, the following new majors are available for Fall 2025 applicants:
- Black Study
- Business Analytics
- Environmental Studies
- Global and Community Health
- Religious Studies/Admin Studies
UC San Diego will offer a Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence, as well as the following undergraduate majors for Fall 2025 applicants:
- Cinematic Arts
- Literary Arts
- Media Industries and Communication
- Four new emphases in Structural Engineering
