Steer Clear of these College Application Mistakes
During the 12th grade, between all the college application forms, essays, and financial aid, and a student’s usual schedule with classes, sports, or music rehearsals, it is not unusual for a student to struggle with finishing everything they need to do.
As the 12th grade is usually a student’s first time working on college applications, there are a few mistakes they can watch out for regarding college admissions.
1.Significant changes in senior year classes
If there is a big change in the rigor of a curriculum or a negative change in a student’s grades, colleges will notice. Students should remember to balance their health and their classwork, and if they find themselves having difficulty in an area, they can reach out for help from their school or other resources.
2.Having unrealistic expectations on the college list
As nice as it is to read about star students who were accepted into all 8 Ivy League colleges, that is not a goal the majority of students can aim for. A student should think carefully about their own interests and research on a variety of colleges with the best environment for them.
